Creating a custom coffee bar isn’t just about adding convenience—it’s about crafting a space that enhances your home’s style and functionality. Today we’re breaking down the process of a coffee bar build out our team completed step by step, from initial planning to the final details.

Step 1: Layout & Renderings
Every great project starts with a solid plan. Before construction begins, we focus on:
Assessing the space – Our clients had a cut-out in the wall of their dining room, making the perfect fit for a coffee bar. We started by getting measurements of this space and discussing how to blend the design with the rest of the kitchen.
Designing the layout – We went over storage needs, workflow efficiency, and how the space will be used daily.
Creating renderings – Using 3D renderings, our cabinet maker brought the vision to life and also presented a few different layout options. This helped our clients visualize their new coffee station and make adjustments before we begin the build.

Step 2: Cabinet & Floating Shelf Installation
Once the design is finalized, we move on to cabinet installation. This step includes:
Selecting cabinetry – We helped the client choose cabinets that match their kitchen style while offering ample storage for coffee essentials. In this case, we ended up matching the stain of their island and living room mantel to tie in the rest of the home while making it feel like it was its own dedicated space.
Installation – After precise measurements and production, our team secured the cabinets in place, ensuring they were level and properly anchored to the walls.
Floating Shelf Placement – Floating shelves provide both storage and display space. We measure and install them with hidden brackets for a seamless, modern look.
Custom modifications – Depending on the design and client preferences, we may add built-in drawers for coffee pods, pull-out trays for appliances, or extra shelving inside the cabinets.

Step 3: Countertop Installation
With cabinets installed, we move on to countertops:
Countertop Measurement & Install – Our countertop partners take precise measurements and our team aids in selecting a material that complements the kitchen’s design. For this project, we matched the quartz countertops in the rest of the kitchen.
Finishing Touches – We ensure all components are securely installed, making final adjustments and paint touch-ups for a polished, built-in aesthetic.

The Final Look
After installation, our clients styled the space with:
A sleek espresso machine and grinder
Canisters for coffee beans and sugar
Mugs displayed on the floating shelves

This custom coffee bar transformed an underutilized nook into a beautiful and functional space, elevating the client’s morning routine. Whether you’re considering a built-in coffee station or a simple countertop setup, a well-designed coffee bar adds both style and practicality to your home.
