What started as a true "diamond in the rough" — down to the studs with lath walls exposed — is now a warm, inviting home that honors its 1910 roots while living like it was built today. Our team completely reimagined this space, modernizing the layout and updating every surface to bring it up to 2025 standards.

We opened up key walls to give the kitchen better flow, knowing it was tucked toward the back of the house and needed to feel more connected to the rest of the main level. The original staircase to the basement was right in the way of both function and form, so we relocated it entirely. That one move allowed us to create a true primary suite and a spacious lower-level family room — two things this home had never seen before.

Throughout the house, we leaned into a warm transitional style with modern accents. The palette is neutral and calming, with touches of contrast like black fixtures and globe lighting for a hint of mid-century personality. Texture plays a big role too — from wood-look tile climbing the master bathroom wall to ceiling, to the scalloped farmhouse sink in the kitchen (a last-minute pivot that turned into a design team favorite).

You’ll find thoughtful details in every corner: arched mirrors flanked by ceiling-hung pendants in the powder bath, layered lighting, tall ceilings, and a layout that feels both functional and fresh.

This project was a labor of love and an investment in bringing new life to an old home — and we couldn’t be more proud of how it turned out!
